When Things Don't Work Out

There will be times in life where you think you have it all figured out.

You’ve got the right partner. You’ve got the right job. You’ve got the right preparation. You’ve got the right mindset.

But there will be times when things just don’t work out.

Maybe your partner and you discovered your interests and priorities didn’t line up. Maybe you got let go from your job. Maybe your ingenious new idea got turned down. Maybe you’ve been really praying for something but it didn’t happen.

Through all of this, life goes on.

Through all of this, God is right.

God can see things we cannot. He is all-knowing. Trust that He has your best interest at heart.

Look at it this way: Jesus did not want to go when he was on the cross. He saw the pain ahead and struggled with enduring it. But instead of rebelling or accusing or letting His emotions take over, He prayed until He had a change in attitude.

What an example.

When God guides you down a path you don’t want to go on, think of Jesus and trust that His ways are right. They are getting you to a better job, a better partner, a better idea, a better tomorrow.

Don’t let your emotions take over in times of confusion or pain. Send it all up to God. Let Him take away your baggage and lighten your load with His guiding hand.

VERSE: Hebrews 13:5 “Be content with what you have, for He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
